"The back Nine golf tour of the Philippines remains one of my most memorable holidays, not only did I find the golf incredibly challenging on boracay, I appreciated that I was on a package holiday that didn't feel like a package tour. There was enough structure for me to have confidence that my golf, accomodation and transport was taken care of but I didn't feel I was locked in to following someone else's schedule.

When I have reccomended the Back Nine to other people the main thing I emphasise is the flexibiliity. There were some days where I was keen to have breakfast, lunch and dinner with Andrew and Dave, and of course play golf with them, but on others I just wanted to do my own thing and turn up for the transport to the course. The other thing I focus on is the Philippines itself. I was a little wary of the Philippines as not many people choose to go there. And that is the beauty of the place. I found that it had everything that Thailand offers but without lots of tourists. The people were friendly, the beaches spectacular (scuba diving after golf is great therapy for a poor score) and the beer cold.... I can't wait for my next trip with the Back Nine and hope to tame one of the most spectacular courses I have ever played on."

"I'm not a great golfer. Simple. The fact that I had such a good time, on such a challenging course and with limited ability should tell you something about the quality of the non-golf activites on tour. I really enjoyed Manilla (culture shock) and could not believe how good Boracay was. I guess it is rated as one of the worlds best beaches so I shouldn't have been suprised, but I hadn't expected it to serve up great golf, great beaches, plenty of activities and a huge choice of restaurants. I'm currently trying to tee up a few mates for a trip in 2008 and hope to squeeze a few lessons in before hand....."
